If nail operators are using acrylic based nail finishes, there will be a wide spectrum of chemical residues present in the air and causing both odorous and odourless contaminated air within the salon.   These evaporate and give off vapours - harmful if inhaled in sufficient quantities

Air monitoring in nail salons has detected the following chemicals:

• ethyl methacrylate
• monomer solutions
• cleaning solvents/primers

Likewise, protection is needed against inhaling acrylic dusts and vapours - created when filing acrylic nails.
