Blueair Air Purifiers

Research now confirms Blueair filtration:

  • "near zero count of Covid 19 virus particle per litre of air within 1 minute of operation".
  • And a further test for nanoparticles showing ">99% reduction of nanoparticles down to 0.03 microns."
  • Covid Virus particle has been measured at between .08 - .12 microns, so again, easily captured by all Blueair models.

Basically, there are two main types of air purification systems, mechanical and electrostatic.

Mechanical: simply means "straining" the air through filter material without any other assisted means.

Electrostatic: where the air entering the machine is lightly negatively charged before making contact with the filter surface which has been positively charged. This makes for a negative/positive attraction so that the tiniest particles are drawn onto the filter fibres.

Blueair’s air purifiers use a trademarked HEPASilent™ filtration technology. This combines two types of particle filtration, electrostatic and mechanical, resulting in a filtration efficiency superior to either technology alone.

Due to this combination, Blueair’s air purifiers are able to use less dense filters, resulting in a high airflow and thereby a high Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR). Less dense filter media and high airflow also ensure lower noise levels and energy consumption.

Blueair’s HEPASilent™ technology captures at least 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns in size. However, latest testing (attached) shows they are actually capable of far greater efficiency.

Blueair air purifiers pack a powerful thrust against virus cross-infection using Blueair's HepaSilent technology - refer attached testing showing particle removal as low as 0.03 microns.

FILTER CLASSIFICATIONS

HEPA class is specified in BS EN 1822-1:2009 standard. "HEPA" usually means HEPA H13 class, i.e. 99.95% removal rate of 0.3μm particles.

Blueair’s HEPASILENT removes 99.97% down to 0.1microns - more clean air at less noise and less energy consumption.

To be more specific, Blueair HEPASilent technology could achieve 99.984% (Efficiency at MPPS) and 99.983% (Efficiency 95% min at MPPS) of 0.1um. This is definitely meeting the Filter Class of HEPA H13 according to EN1822-1:2009 standard.

Blueair’s HEPASilent technology’s filtration performance is equivalent to HEPA H13 class.

It means that Blueair devices not only capture bacteria & viruses, but also kill & inactivate them inside the machine, hence ensuring no secondary pollution when replacing filter.

The Food and Drug Administration (USA-FDA) has listed the Blueair air purifier as a medical device, which means that they meet the strict regulations for use in hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor's offices.

Allergists and other physicians may prescribe a Blueair air purifier to a patient since it is a registered medical device.
