The FlexVac kit converts any IQAir compact stand-alone filtration device into a mobile, self-contained source capture system. The flexible FlexAir™ seduction duct can be positioned precisely to capture gases, fumes, vapours, odours, dust particles and microorganisms directly at the source.

The IQAir Fume or Particle Suction Extractor System consists of two components: FlexVac mobile source capture kit coupled with any one of four IQAir air purifiers.
The system has been developed to create a safer working environment to specifically deal with the gases, odours, fine dust, bacteria and viruses. Exposure to even small levels of such pollutants can have serious and potentially result in long-term health complications.

NOTE: "Medical" grade air filtration is often misleadingly quoted at being at the standard HEPA 0.3 microns, when in fact the HEPA standard is today barely sufficient as an air filtration standard. IQAir’s medical grade units are proven and tested to remove particles as small as .003 microns medical-grade HEPA filter" can never capture these dangerous pollutants. True medical grade air purifier solutions capture the ultrafine particles in the air down to 0.003 microns - this is up to 100x more filtration than a standard 0.3 microns HEPA system. The FlexVac kit offers exceptional suction power for a system of its size and reach. Adding a FlexVac source capture kit to an IQAir compact stand-alone filtration system typically reduces its airflow by only 10-30% (depending on model
and fan speed). At a typical airflow of 250 m3/h the air vlocity in the suction duct is approx. 5 m/s.
The FlexVac kit features the unique FlexAir multisegment self-supporting suction duct which allows a horizontal reach
of 1.35 m (from the center of the IQAir system) and a vertical reach of 1.95 m (from floor level). If additional reach is required, the FlexAir duct can be simply extended by adding further duct segments (available separately in segments of
The multi-segmented flexible suction duct consists of 20 interlocking elements which allow the duct to be bent and twisted into virtually every desired position. The rigidity and pressure fit of the sections makes the duct self-supporting
and ensures that it remains in place until repositioned.
The quick deployment and effortless positioning of the FlexVac system is ensured by six casters, two of which are lockable. (Note: If a wall-mounted source capture system is preferred, the VM FlexVac kit is available for secure fitting

All FlexVac components are designed to provide outstanding performance and durability. The FlexAir duct is made of shatterproof and chemically resistant copolymer (POM) and withstands temperatures from -25°C to 80°C. The support
column and base platform are made from scratch-resistant powder coated steel.
Flexibility and Energy Savings
Due to its self-contained design the IQAir FlexVac requires no venting or ducting to the outdoors. This makes the system completely mobile, saves energy and expensive building conversions.

The Importance of IQAir MultiGas Media in Removing Fumes at their source:
The IQAir MultiGas media offers both, physical and chemical filtration processes. It is a 50/50 blend of activated VOC (carbon) and Chemisorber (permanganate) granules.
IQAir VOC Carbon: The uniquely-formulated activated carbon used in the MultiGas media provides higher performance for light commercial applications. IQAir's activated carbon is activated for a maximum proportion of micropores. It is these optimised micropores that allow for maximum removal activity at the gaseous pollutant levels typically encountered in office and light commercial environments. Conventional air cleaners use gas control media based on a purely physical filtration process, such as activated carbon and zeolite. Zeolite is a “filler” that is substantially less expensive than activated carbon but there is no reliable scientific evidence to show that zeolite is able to remove any gaseous compound better than specialty impregnated carbons.
IQAir Chemisorber: For control of gaseous contaminants with a low molecular weight, such as formaldehyde and hydrogen sulfide, the MultiGas media contains a chemically active media, called ChemiSorber. This media is made of activated alumina (Al2O3) impregnated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4). This non-toxic media first physically binds selected contaminant molecules and then chemically destroys them through an oxidation process. However, no oxygen or ozone is generated, since the process is media based only. It is this combination of physical adsorption and chemisorption, which is at the basis of the broad-spectrum gas and odour control capabilities of the MultiGas media.
All IQAir Fume or Particle Suction Extractor systems are individually tested at the factory to ensure that each system actually achieves a minimum filtration efficiency of 99% for airborne particulates ≥ 0.3 µm. Further, laboratory testing proves that ultrafine particles in the air down to 0.003 microns are captured.
